Relax and unwind amid the beautiful scenery, heritage and wildlife of Wester Ross, with the Isle of Skye just a few minutes away by road or rail.  Step off the train and straight into your accommodation in the former station building which has been restored to its former glory while given the contemporary touches that complete a luxury break.

Be the Station Master in the wonderful upstairs apartment with peaceful views to the surrounding mountains and watch the four trains per day in each direction pull up right underneath your window! Or stay in the newly opened ground floor, fully accessible, Ticket Office, once the bustling centre of the old Strathcarron Station building. Explore the area by rail on this outstanding scenic line or take the car and wander further afield to mountains, lochs, spectacular coastlines, islands, gardens, whisky distilleries, castles and wildlife.

Sample fine cuisine at the range of local restaurants or cook a special meal in your luxury fitted kitchen.  The owners, Lin and Rupert, have been taking self-catering holidays for many years and Lin has utilised her interior design training to make sure every modern convenience is at your fingertips while retaining the atmosphere and period features of this Victorian building.

This is a very special Airbnb. It is set in a very beautiful and quirky location of being above a quiet working station. We stayed at the Station Masters Appartment and it is amazing. The furnishings were so homely and made you feel immediately welcomed just as if you were walking into your own home. Clearly a lot of love, attention to detail and thought has been put into this beautiful space. It is well equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. This is one of the best Airbnb's that we have ever stayed at and our advice is that if it is free, book it.

Absolutely excellent place. I can see why all these great reviews have been left for Rupert and Lin. Unfortunately these days it’s rare to find an Airbnb that meets expectations for the prices charged, but Rupert and Lin’s place actually exceeds expectations! The apartment is much larger than the pictures. The view is amazing out of the window and it’s very atmospheric staying next to a highland station and watching the trains come and go. There are many great hikes from the doorstep and the scenery is obviously amazing as it’s the highlands! Rupert and Lin are great hosts. They don’t intrude at all and leave you be, but they also provide great information and quickly respond if required. The perfect self-check in stay. I highly recommend Rupert and Lin’s Airbnb.
