Relax and unwind amid the beautiful scenery, heritage and wildlife of Wester Ross, with the Isle of Skye just a few minutes away by road or rail.  Step off the train and straight into your accommodation in the former station building which has been restored to its former glory while given the contemporary touches that complete a luxury break.

Be the Station Master in the wonderful upstairs apartment with peaceful views to the surrounding mountains and watch the four trains per day in each direction pull up right underneath your window! Or stay in the newly opened ground floor, fully accessible, Ticket Office, once the bustling centre of the old Strathcarron Station building. Explore the area by rail on this outstanding scenic line or take the car and wander further afield to mountains, lochs, spectacular coastlines, islands, gardens, whisky distilleries, castles and wildlife.

Sample fine cuisine at the range of local restaurants or cook a special meal in your luxury fitted kitchen.  The owners, Lin and Rupert, have been taking self-catering holidays for many years and Lin has utilised her interior design training to make sure every modern convenience is at your fingertips while retaining the atmosphere and period features of this Victorian building.

This place is a piece of magic. Strathcarron is so pretty and the apartment is just beautiful. The trappings of being an old train station ticket office are all still there. The apartment was super comfy and warm. I highly recommend it and Rupert was a great host.

We had an unforgettable stay and enjoyed every moment of our time here. The apartment was cosy, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed. Sitting by the fireplace made the evenings truly magical.
The location was perfect — staying was an experience, it’s peaceful and surrounded by nature. We even had sheep nearby, which added to the unique countryside experience.
Overall, it was a wonderful place to stay, and we would happily return. If you’re visiting this part of Scotland, we highly recommend this apartment. There is so much to explore, whether you enjoy walking, running, or simply taking in the beautiful scenery. 100% recommended!
